I haven’t requested a room location before, but it can’t hurt to try. In my experience they’ve been very accommodating. I think it will depend on what you are going for which building you would want to request. Building 8 has a bar and is more lively so if that’s the vibe you are looking for I think it would be great! Since building 7 doesn’t have a bar that pool tends to be more quiet and relaxing (where I personally would go to float and read a book). Both are reserved just for Excellence Club. Hope this helps!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the review! I originally booked the Junior suite because the Excellence Club was not available (and I had specific dates I wanted to go)but choose the rate that was fully refundable (which I personally am doing for all my trips currently). When the Excellence Club did become available I just called and had them switch my reservation and I paid the difference.

I believe it was fully booked (based on limited online booking availability) but it didn’t feel overly busy. We did have to wait an hour one night to get into The Lobster House because there are no reservations and that was a popular restaurant, but the tables are very spaced out. We had no problems getting chairs under the palapas either.

The bathroom was definitely a surprise for us the first time we went too!

We’re looking to book EPM in May but the only room available is a standard junior suite. We’d prefer excellence club, at least, but really wanted an ocean view or swim out. Did you book the excellence club with your original booking, or did you upgrade at the resort?

Also, what was your opinion on their occupancy levels(was it packed and fully booked)? I’m shocked to hear the “lazy river” doesn’t actually move, that is a let down.

Also, thank you for noting that the room is totally open concept, because that is not easily detected in photos. That’s a little…odd.
