Do SiO Patches Really Work?
As a skincare junkie, I’m constantly looking for the next best thing that will help me age gracefully, without the use of needles (not opposed, just putting it off for as long as possible). So it should come as no surprise when I continually got targeted ads for SiO Beauty Patches. At first, slightly offended (how do you know I have wrinkles internet?!?!?!), I quickly became intrigued. The SiO Beauty Patch seemed a little too good to be true, wear a pure silicone patch and the wrinkles diminish? No lotions or potions? I had to know, do SiO patches really work???

What are Silicone Patches
I’m no doctor and science was not my favorite subject, but here are the cliff notes of what I found. When wearing a medical-grade silicone patch for an extended amount of time, the silicone creates an environment for your skin to retain moisture and encourage collagen production. This helps reduce the look of wrinkles in the short and long term.
To read a lot more detail, check out the SiO Beauty page for the reason we get wrinkles and the science behind the patches.
About SiO Beauty Patches
With a lot of silicone patches on the market, I chose SiO because they are medical-grade, come in a ton of different shapes to comfortably fit (important when you are wearing them for 8 hours), and have gone through clinical studies with real results. They are also reusable for up to 10 times, so a little risk for a lot of reward…if they worked.
How to Use SiO Patches
I bought the SiO BrowLift which is meant to fight forehead wrinkles. The patch comes on a plastic shield, the side touching the shield is sticky (it’s the side you place on your skin) the other side is not. After wearing the patch for 6-8 hours, take it off and place it back on the plastic shield to use again, rinse in water if it’s not sticky any longer.
That’s the version of how to use it that you can find online. Here are the real details…
The skin needs to be completely clean and not have any lotions or potions on it. Since they recommend wearing the patch for 6-8 hours, I found it to work best for me to sleep with it on. So after washing my face at night, I put nothing on except for the forehead patch. I’m going to say, it seems counterintuitive to not use my typical serums and moisturizers when that is what I normally rely on to help with wrinkles. I’m doing one thing to get rid of the wrinkles, but not the other. That’s when I told myself ‘trust the process’.
SiO 10 Day BrowLift Test
Since I really want this to work and the product can be used up to 10 times, I decided to use the forehead patch every night for 10 nights straight. I felt like this would give me the best results I could hope to achieve.
When I initially placed the patch on my forehead, I noticed it covered the hair on either side of my temple. I had the immediate thought that when I removed it in the morning it was either going to be like ripping off a band-aid (ouch) or even worse, like a wax strip and goodbye hair.
As a side and stomach sleeper (I know, I know, that contributes to the wrinkles) I wasn’t sure if the patch would stay on all night or if I would wake up to find it hanging halfway off my forehead. I’m happy to report that it stayed on all night and when I pulled it off in the morning neither did it hurt (no band-aid) nor did it remove any hair. I just peeled the patch off of my forehead, applied it to the plastic shield included and put it back in its resealable pouch ready to be used again that night.
My Experience With SiO Beauty BrowLift Patches
The first morning taking the patch off my forehead, I could tell an immediate difference. My forehead looked plumper and lines less deep.
The second morning taking the patch off of my forehead, when I removed the patch there was moisture on my forehead and the patch. For a moment, I was like…did my forehead sweat? But no, it was doing what it was supposed to be doing. The seal of the patch pulls moisture from the skin and that is what plumps up the lines, so no need to be alarmed if you, too, see moisture on your skin. But I did rinse the patch off that time, and since I did I let it air dry for a little before putting it back on the shield.
What I noticed after using it for multiple days in a row were two things. First, if your skin isn’t smooth when you place it, it will be that way for 8 hours straight. Meaning, smooth out those 11s if that’s a concern before putting it on! I woke up one day and was not happy with myself, ha! Second, as time goes on, the silicone isn’t as fresh and gets a little texture to it. That texture is then on your skin, again, for 8 hours straight. It’s not a thought that I love, but I was committed to the 10 day challenge.
BrowLift Results
As I mentioned, I noticed an immediate difference the very next morning. My forehead skin felt plumper, my wrinkles less noticeable, and my skin more moisturized. But the big question is, would the results last?
After using the patch for 10 days straight, my wrinkles weren’t completely gone, but they were less noticeable than before. And 5 days after using the patch…well my forehead was still better than it was before. Was it quite as good as day 10? No, I don’t think so. Although hard to say because, for full transparency, I had moisturized before taking my 5-day post-patch photo so my skin might look more supple, but it didn’t feel more supple.
No, my forehead wasn’t Botox smooth. It looked like my normal, natural skin…maybe more rested…maybe a year or two younger.
The Price
The BrowLift Patch, at the time of purchase, was $24.95 and Super EyeLift was $34.00 SiO offers many different sizes and shapes of patches depending on what part of the face or body you want to target, and the price ranges from $19.95 to $69.95.
SiO usually offers some sort of discount code on your first order, and discounts on subscriptions so you can generally pay less than the MSRP.
SiO 10 Day Super Eyelift Test
After being pleasantly surprised with the BrowLift results, I decided to try a patch for another area I would like to see improvement. I bought the Super EyeLift and naively began my 10 day test. It was quite a different experience from the BrowLift.
Whereas the BrowLift I wore every single day for ten consecutive days, the Super EyeLift was not as comfortable, or convenient to wear. The ten day test was spread out over six weeks, so it’s difficult to say if I received the full benefits.
My Experience With SiO Beauty Super EyeLift Patches
Just as I did with BrowLift, I attempted to sleep with Super EyeLift patches. As a side and stomach sleeper, they were not comfortable at all and I ended up pulling them off in the middle of the night.
Then, I switched to wearing them in the morning after I showered, but before I had my first meeting of the day. Since you can’t wear skincare while wearing patches, this update delayed my whole morning skincare routine.
What I found worked the best, and what I stuck with, was washing my face early evening and wearing them for a couple of hours before I did my nighttime skincare routine. Since I was only wearing them for a couple of hours each time, versus the 8 hours for the forehead patch, I’m not sure I reaped all the benefits, but I do believe they worked.
Super EyeLift Results
I am always honest in my reviews, so please take this at face value. I wore the patches once every 4 days for 6 weeks and a total of 10 times. They were not comfortable and I was happy when my 10 day test was over. I looked in the mirror and it had been so long I couldn’t tell if there was a difference. But when I look at the photos (scroll up) I can definitely see a smoothing out of the texture in the skin near the eyes.
Now, one caveat is that we know lighting can make all the difference. While I try to take before and after photos in a similar light and in front of natural light, it’s almost impossible when the seasons are changing and there are 6 weeks between the before and after. I do think there is a subtle difference.
Final Thoughts
There are quite a few SiO Beauty reviews out there and this is my honest take. I would not hesitate to buy a SiO Patch, and in fact, I’m going to buy some of the different shapes they offer. I will however probably only use them 5 times instead of 10 because I’m not a fan of when the silicone gets textured, and that’s still a reasonable wear-per-use price.
Are silicone patches an alternative to needles? No. Can they prolong wanting them? Maybe. And I will definitely be using them the next time I have a big night out. If you are looking for a safe, clean way to help reduce wrinkles, SiO Patches are a great option!
