Halloween Costumes From TV Shows

I’ve come to discover there are two types of people in the world, those that dress for Halloween and those that do not. If you fall into the former camp and are looking for a good group or couples theme, check out the below ideas for the best Halloween costumes from TV shows.

They are relatively easy to put together since, you know, most of the costume is just clothes. And how fun is it to decide how in the group will be what character? You know there’s always that person that wants to be the Carrie.

Only Murders in the Building

Steve Martin and Martin Short and Selena Gomez

A brand new show for 2021, the first season will be wrapping up right around Halloween. Two guys and one girl in your group, this is the perfect costume. All you need are some headphones, a yellow sweater, and some boots and you’re Mabel.

The Addams Family

The Addams Family is great for a large group since there are so many family members. And if your closet looks anything like mine you have plenty of black clothing to choose from. I’m pretty sure I could be Wednesday or Morticia on very short notice.

The Office

The trick in The Office themed costume is in the numbers. You can’t just have one guy wearing a suit, but all of a sudden if you have six people with their own individual office attire style, there you go! Definitely make sure you have a Pam and Jim.

Ted Lasso

What some could say is currently the best show on TV, Ted Lasso has a lot of great characters. If you are looking for a couples costume Roy and Keely are amazing. How fun is Keely and basically you can put your Roy in a tracksuit.

Big Little Lies

Two different options for a girls group costume. One – you can dress as the characters from Big Little Lies. Two – you can dress as the characters from Big Little Lies dressing as their version of Audrey Hepburn from season one of the show.

Schitt’s Creek

It took me a while to come around to Schitt’s Creek but I am OBSESSED! You can play this doing any everyday look or the way they looked in the finale. How fun would that be?

Succession

The Roy family is very timely since the new season comes out two weeks before Halloween. This is a great idea if you are one woman with a bunch of guys. I kind of see this idea as an ironic way, most guys won’t want to be part of that family unless they are especially douchey in real life.

Scooby Doo

Scooby-Doo is a Xennial childhood classic TV show cartoon turned movie in the early aughts. Get a green shirt and brown pants and bam! you’re Shaggy. Also, if you have a dog you can have them join the fun with a blue collar and this dog tag.

Friends

The characters from Friends basically dress in quintessential 90s gear, which is very on-trend right now. Even sweater vests are popular again so no issue finding something for Chandler. The key here is you’ll want 6 people to pull off this costume.

Schmigadoon!

If you doing a couples costume and have some hiking gear around, playing Josh and Melissa is a no-brainer!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Really you could do any Housewives franchise but I think Beverly Hills has some great fashion between Erica, Dorit, and Rinna.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

So while you may not have The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel clothing in your closet right now, Halloween is a great excuse to get some. If you are looking for a costume for two friends, what better than Midge and Susie?

Sex & The City

With the new Sex & The City reboot expected to come out before the end of 2021, this is very timely. Plus who doesn’t want to dress in the icon tutu SJP wears. And now you can do this costume idea with your friends if you are in a group of 3 or 4 because ya know…Samantha.
