This Week’s Binge 10.9.20
The Ted Lasso season finale was this week and it did not disappoint! I’m not sure Apple TV+ gets the credit it deserves for some of their amazing content, but I think they will. Slowly, they are building their original offerings, and I don’t think they will be going anywhere.
Also, ’tis the season for watching Halloween movies, and I have begun! Check out the guide for a list of top movies from a variety of genres.

Emily In Paris
Netflix
What I had heard was going to be the millennials’ version of Sex and the City, simply was not. From the same creator, Darren Star, comes a cheeky little comedy about an American (Lily Collins) who finds herself single in Paris.
It’s cute. It’s fun. It’s light-hearted. It’s no Sex and the City. Sex and the City was an ensemble, about a group of women and the complexities of their friendships and their relationships. The only similarities I see is they are both female-led and the city is an important, and impactful, additional character.
But that’s OK. Take it for what it is. It’s a predictable storyline with some fun fashion and amazing scenery. Probably what we need right about now.

Fargo | Season 4
Hulu
Fargo Season 4 is airing on FX and then the next day is available on Hulu. So far there have been only a couple of episodes that have aired and then they are being released weekly.
Fargo is a campy series, usually about a crime, a vendetta, and some gory fall-out. So far this season seems to be falling right along those lines, taking place in Kansas City in the ’50s, between and Italian and Black gang war. Allegedly Chris Rock is playing a serious role, but how serious can you really be in a campy series?
There’s another pretty interesting character, the nurse, who happens to be a lead character in I’m Thinking of Ending Things. I had never seen her before and now she seems to be everywhere…keep your eye out for her. She’s good.

American Murder: The Family Next Door
Netflix
A unique true crime documentary using only real video footage. No recreated scenes. No interviews.
I wasn’t familiar with this story from the news so I went in not knowing anything about a missing woman and her two children. I was glued to the TV screen. And by the end…you know everything.
