Apple Cider Donut Martini Recipe

This apple cider martini recipe is reminiscent of your favorite donut with a hint of vanilla and sweetness coming from the cinnamon sugar rim. An apple cider vodka cocktail is the perfect drink to transition into Fall before we get into full-on pumpkin spice mode.

Apple Cider, Vanilla Extract, Sugar, Cinnamon, Honeycrisp Apples, Vodka

Recommended Tools to Make an Apple Cider Martini

  • Cocktail Shaker | I’m no professional so I prefer a basic shaker that includes a built-in strainer
  • Glass Bottle | You’ll make about 8 oz of vanilla simple syrup so if you don’t use it all you’ll want to store it in the fridge (it should be good for about a month), it adds a depth of flavor to coffee, or oatmeal too
  • Coupe Glasses | These glasses are perfect for martinis and champagne, and living in the city with limited space I love it when things are multi-functional
Cinnamon Sugar Rim on Glass, Honeycrisp apple

Apple Cider Donut Martini Recipe

Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp organic vanilla extract
  • 1 cup, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 oz vodka (I prefer Grey Goose)
  • 4 oz unsweetened apple cider, plus additional for rimming
  • cinnamon stick (for garnish)
  • Ice

Directions

  1. Add 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil
  2. Once boiling turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract, let cool to room temperature for about 25 minutes
  3. Mix the remaining 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon to create cinnamon sugar for the rim
  4. Dip the rim of the glass in apple cider to moisten and then roll in cinnamon sugar
  5. Fill the martini shaker halfway with ice
  6. Add vodka, apple cider, and 1/4 oz vanilla simple syrup
  7. Shake vigorously and pour into a glass
  8. Garnish with a cinnamon stick

Tip:

  • The key flavor in the martini is the vanilla simple syrup so don’t skip this step
  • The colder the better when it comes to martinis so shake that shaker until your hands feel pretty cold
