The Best Products I Bought on Amazon in 2023

Although we like supporting local and small businesses, sometimes Amazon just can’t be beat in terms of its selection, price, speed, and free shipping. With so many options, navigating the Amazon App can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack. I’ve bought a lot (I won’t even tell you how many Amazon purchases were made) in 2023 and here are the best of the best!

If you buy something through my links, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. I appreciate your support! See disclosure for details.

Beauty

Elta MD

Face SPF 46

I’ve been using this SPF, every single day on my face, for the last five years. It’s the gold standard and is so nourishing I don’t have to use a separate moisturizer. If I feel like I need something extra I’ll seal it with a face oil. Sometimes you need to be careful with buying beauty products on Amazon but I’ve never had an issue with the formula when I’ve bought it here.

DMLNN

Hair Finishing Gel

@whatgracebought suggested this product for her slick back bun and I’ve found I use it almost daily. It’s a game changer for flyaways and new growth. It’s inexpensive and comes with two tubes so I keep one in my travel toiletry bag too!

CeraVe

Hydrating Face Wash

We do not need to spend a lot of money on face wash. I repeat we do not need to spend a lot of money on face wash. As long as it’s not drying, fragrance-free, and gets my face clean I’m good. This has been great with my sensitive skin so I’m at the point where I buy the value size. They also make this in a bar which is what I travel with.

Cocofloss

Textured Dental Floss

Recommended by my dentist and by far the best floss out there. The brand is kind of hard to find, plus this pack gives you a regular size for home and two small sizes that are perfect for travel.

Books

Rebecca Yarros

Fourth Wing

Was this the best book I read all year? Probably not. Was it my favorite? My obsession says yes. This is the special edition with black sprayed edges and bonus chapters. I couldn’t not include Fourth Wing in my lineup.

Andy Weir

Project Hail Mary

This is what I brought for a Five Star Book Exchange during Book Camp. I read it after Olivia Muenter suggested it on the Bad on Paper Podcast, and loved it even though it’s outside of my normal genre. The person who chose my book has reported back that she agrees it’s five stars!

Rebecca Yarros

Iron Flame

After being obsessed with Fourth Wing there was no question I was pre-ordering Iron Flame. Hard to say which one I prefer, but my hangover was worse with this one.

I did preorder this from my local bookseller as well but Amazon arrived first, and a day early, and was less expensive. So…there we go again with Bezos for the win. The local bookseller book I am giving as a gift.

Travel

BAGSMART

Compression Packing Cubes

I have had three sets of packing cubes, and these are the best! The top fully opens (as opposed to just the front opening), they compress, and they are semitransparent so you can see what’s in them. What more could you ask for?

SEQUHITKU

Liquid Travel Pouches

These. do. not. leak. Amazing! I use them to pack mouthwash and different strengths of SPF. Multiple sizes are included so you’ll have the perfect size depending on your use. Plus by the time you are packing to leave, they are empty and pack flat.

I also have it on good authority these are great to use while sneaking alcohol in where you shouldn’t. Not that I would know anything about that.

Ziploc

Space Saving Bags

When I travel, I put all my dirty laundry in these for the return trip home. Not only do they keep my bag, and hotel room, organized, but the dirty clothes take up less space, and they keep my packing cubes clean.

Misc

Newmowa

Clip Light

Yes, this is the light a certain TikToker made famous. There’s no denying though, good lighting is key and it does wonders to improve my Teams calls.

Mål Paper

Five Year Journal

I’m not a journaler, but I do love to capture memories and look back on where I’ve been and where I’m at. This journal covers five years, each page a date with spots for all five years, but only a couple of lines per year so it’s perfect!

I debated including this because, at the time of publication, it’s sold out, but it’s so good it’s worth checking. I love the aesthetic of this one (something I won’t tire of over five years) but there are a ton of different options on Amazon.
