Do Peace Out Dark Spots Dots Really Work?

I have one very specific spot on my nose that is darker than the rest of my face and I’ve had it for years. It’s probably a remnant from no SPF in my teens or the tanning bed (can you imagine?) in my early 20’s, but here I am older and wiser cleaning up the mistakes of my youth.

TBH, the dark spot isn’t very noticeable with makeup, but as I was wearing less and less makeup during the pandemic, I noticed it more and more. With so many hyperpigmentation products on the market, I found one with good reviews and put it to the test. And now here I am to share with you if Peace Out Dark Spots Dots really work.

What are Peace Out Dark Spots Dots

Although they are technically called Peace Out Dark Spots Microneedling Brightening Dots, I don’t believe that’s what they really are. The Microneedling cosmetic procedure involves pricking the skin with many sterilized tiny needles in order to promote collagen production. Peace Out, on the other hand, has many dissolvable needle-shaped channels filled with skin brightening acids.

Maybe this is a tomato, tomahto kind of thing, but can needles really dissolve? I’m no doctor but my assumption is that calling it Microneedling is more so that the consumer understands the desired outcome. It’s kind of like if you put the word collagen in anything you know it’s good for your skin.

About Peace Out Dark Spots Dots

Vegan and gluten-free, these little patches feel like they are made from a thin silicone. They are clear, so although they aren’t invisible, they aren’t glaringly noticeable either.

Free from all the bad stuff, they have no parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, sulfates SLS & SLES, triclocarban, triclosan, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. I have sensitive skin and some topical allergies and had no allergic reaction.

What they are full of is Niacinamide, Ferulic acid, and Tranexamic Acid. Again, no doctor but these allegedly help the skin texture to become more even and softens and lightens dark spots.

How to Use Peace Out Dark Spots Dots

The recommendation to get the best results is to use a dot on a dark spot twice a week, for at least 6 hours at a time. The easiest (and least embarassing) is to wear it while you are sleeping. As mentioned above, it’s a comfortable, clear patch and completely stays put throughout the night, and that’s coming from a stomach sleeper.

After cleaning at night, apply the dot and that’s it. Make sure you don’t put any moisturizer on, or anything between your freshly cleaned skin and the dot.

The pack comes with 12 dots, so if you use it as directed that means you can cover 3 dark spots at a time, or if you have a persistent spot the pack will be good for 3 cycles.

The Results

Let me first say there is nothing like taking a completely bare, hi-res image of your face to take you down a couple of notches. Ah…where is photoshop when you need it (I kid, I kid, I’m trying to age gracefully-ish)?

The first photo is prior to using the dots and the second photo is after using a dot on the spot overnight, twice a week for two weeks. And you can see…drumroll please…not a huge difference.

Is there some difference? Yes, but it’s minimal. If the dark spot bothered me before it would still bother me since you can clearly still see it. Luckily, I’m not overall concerned with it, and I have a few more things I want to try out (reviews to come).

The Price

The pack of 12 dots, at the time of publication, is $28. So, on paper, it costs $9.33 to get rid of one dark spot. That sounds like a pretty reasonable price to me.

Final Thoughts

I won’t be buying Peace Out Microneedling Dark Spot Brightening Dots again since I didn’t see a dramatic difference. When I spend time, money, and effort on something I like for it to be very noticeable. However, if you have a new acne spot or a lighter dark spot, it may be worth it for you to try. If it doesn’t work, it’s only $28 lost, but if it does, then that’s a pretty inexpensive fix.
