Emily In Paris Review
Emily In Paris
Netflix
What I had heard was going to be the millennials’ version of Sex and the City, simply was not. From the same creator, Darren Star, comes a cheeky little comedy about an American (Lily Collins) who finds herself single in Paris.
It’s cute. It’s fun. It’s light-hearted. It’s no Sex and the City. Sex and the City was an ensemble, about a group of women and the complexities of their friendships and their relationships. The only similarities I see are they are both female-led and the city is an important, and impactful, additional character.
But that’s OK. Take it for what it is. It’s a predictable storyline with some fun fashion and amazing scenery. Probably what we need right about now.
