I saw the trailer for Trying a while ago, but with the premise based around adoption I had put it off.  Looking for a quick show to watch one day I decided to try it (not many new 30 minute series popping up).

I’m so glad I did.  Yes, the comedy is about a couple who are deciding if they should adopt after having fertility issues.  But it’s more.  It’s about relationships with each other, with oneself, with other people.  It’s a comedy, but British so don’t expect to be roaring with laughter, but more amusement.

If you take The Talented Mr. Ripley and throw in Downton Abbey, you get Rebecca.  Rebecca is a thriller set in the early 20th century (?) between Monte Carlo and the English Countryside.

There are some pleasantly surprising twists, but the real star of the show is the beautiful scenery of Europe.  It’s like taking a step back in time.  The resort set in Monte Carlo reminds me of The Grand Hotel at Mackinac Island, the opulence and grandeur.  It just takes you back…to a time that once upon was.
