Pumpkin Spice Martini Recipe

As a big fan of pumpkin spice everything, I was disappointed when searching for a martini recipe that didn’t include milk or cream (dairy or non-dairy). I just wanted a cocktail with all the comforting flavors of pumpkin spice, but nothing heavy. Since I couldn’t find one, I created it. I hope you enjoy the Very Obsessed take on a pumpkin spice martini.

Pumpkin Spice Martini Recipe Ingredients

Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup

The key to this cocktail is the pumpkin spice simple syrup, made with real pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, and all those cozy autumn spices. When you are making this on the stovetop your home will smell exactly like Fall should. The syrup will keep in the refrigerator for about a week so if you won’t use it then I highly recommend it for drizzling over oatmeal or adding to your coffee in the morning. It’s delicious!

Recommended Tools to Make a Pumpkin Spice Martini

  • Cocktail Shaker | I’m no professional so I prefer a basic shaker that includes a built-in strainer
  • Coupe Glasses | These glasses are perfect for martinis and champagne, and living in the city with limited space I love when things are multi-functional
  • Glass Bottle | You’ll make about 10 oz of vanilla pumpkin spice simple syrup so if you don’t use it all you’ll want to store it in the fridge (it should be good for about a week), it adds depth of flavor in coffee or oatmeal too
  • Fine Mesh Strainer | Since the syrup is made with real pumpkin puree, you’ll want to finely strain it to remove any pumpkin pieces

Pumpkin Spice Martini Recipe

Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup organic granulated cane sugar
  • 2 tsp organic vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp organic ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp organic ground ginger
  • ½ tsp organic ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp organic ground cloves
  • 3 oz vodka (I prefer Grey Goose)
  • cinnamon stick (for garnish)
  • Ice

Directions

  1. Add 1 cup of water and the first seven ingredients to a saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil
  2. Once boiling turn off the heat, and let cool to room temperature for about 30 minutes
  3. Fill the martini shaker halfway with ice
  4. Add vodka and 2 oz pumpkin spice simple syrup
  5. Shake vigorously and pour into a glass
  6. Garnish with cinnamon stick

Tip:

  • This is not your grandma’s martini. It’s simple syrup and vodka, that’s it
  • The colder the better when it comes to martinis so shake that shaker until your hands feel pretty cold
