If you haven’t heard of Lola’s Lashes you aren’t alone. They aren’t available at Sephora or Ulta and they aren’t one of those brands that constantly spam my social media with paid ads (looking at you Glamnetic). I actively searched them out. A few months ago I reviewed S’Attraction magnetic eyeliner and eyelashes and found them to be a complete lash game-changer. Not necessarily because they are top quality, but because they do what they claim to do (more on that later). After some mixed comments left by readers on that post, I went on a search for something higher quality and that’s what brought me to purchase Lola’s lashes. Fake Lashes I’ve always been the type to use fake eyelashes for a night out. Once the pandemic hit, and everyone was wearing masks, the eyes seemed all the more important. Natural lashes, mascara, lash growth serum, glue on lashes, magnetic lashes, magnetic eyeliner and lashes, lift and tint (which I am still curious about), and eyelash extensions. The options are abundant and each has its own pros and cons. Some I’ve tried and some of I’ve passed on but at the end of the day what I want is something to make my lashes look extra special, but with no upkeep or commitment (the hair extensions are pretty extra, so #balance). Below is my full and honest (no-bs) review of Lola’s Lashes. Where applicable, I’ll try to compare to S’Attraction so you can make an informed decision before you buy. You can read the full S’Attraction review for more deets. About Lola’s Lashes Lola’s Lashes is a UK lash company that makes Korean synthetic silk eyelashes (vegan and cruelty-free) in China. S’Attraction claims their magnetic eyeliner is hypoallergenic, but Lola’s makes no such claim. Since I have sensitive skin this seems like an important quality so I did a little research. According to the FDA site regarding hypoallergenic claims, there is no federal regulation as to what it means to be hypoallergenic. If that’s the case then what does hypoallergenic even mean??? What I can tell you is that I have sensitive skin and Lola’s did not irritate it in the slightest bit. Lola’s now has a presence in Los Angeles so shipping within the U.S. is fast. Both Lola’s and S’Attraction need to be ordered from their individual websites, but Lola’s delivered within a week whereas S’Attraction took weeks to deliver. Neither is as convenient as, let’s say, running to Sephora, but I also think they are of a different quality. Winner: Lola’s (especially if you are in a time crunch). Magnetic Eyeliner and Lashes The concept behind magnetic eyeliner and lashes is twofold. One part is the liquid eyeliner that is magnetic and the other is the strip of eyelashes with magnets on them. When the eyeliner dries the magnets adhere to the magnetized liner. My everyday makeup is not very dramatic so just putting on fake lashes really amps it up. Lola’s informed me that the Rose Quartz and Jade eyelashes are the most natural and totally appropriate for everyday use. After a quick comparison, I decided to buy the Rose Quartz magnetic eyeliner and eyelash kit. Lola’s Lashes website does a great job of comparing different lash styles so you can choose which is best for you. The reason I went with Rose Quartz over Jade is that the band is 27mm vs 32mm and I was hoping I wouldn’t have to cut the band. I was correct, which is nice since it’s one less complicated thing. Although S’Attraction and Lola’s lashes both have 5 magnets on each strip, because I had to cut down the S’Attraction Dreamy eyelashes, I was really only left with 4 magnets vs. the 5 I started with. On Lola’s the 5 magnets are closer together (at least on the Rose Quartz), creating an excellent hold. In fact, Lola’s claims that they are wind resistant up to 75mph, so that’s pretty impressive. Starter Kits Included in Lola’s Lashes Rose Quartz kit: ‘Rose Quartz’ style magnetic eyelashes (subtle lift, length, and volume to enhance natural eyes) Magnetic liquid eyeliner in black or brown (I chose brown) Cleansing Oil (made of grapeseed) Differences between Lola’s Starter Kit and S’Attraction Starter Kit: S’Attraction includes a storage case with two sections and on the top of the compact is a mirror; each section has a ring that a set of eyelashes magnetize to. I don’t use the compact because I prefer a large mirror when applying, but it is nice to be able to keep two sets of lashes together taking up a little space. S’Attraction includes an eyelash applicator, like a plastic pair of gripping tweezers. I have never used them and think they are totally unnecessary. Lola’s Lashes include the cleansing oil; more on that below, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Product winner: Lola’s (they look totally natural and there are so many options). Starter Kit winner: Draw (I don’t need any of the extras, give me amazing lashes, amazing liner, and call it a day). How to Apply Magnetic Eyelashes with Liner Lola’s comes with pretty comprehensive step-by-step instructions whereas S’Attraction literally came with none. Below is what I find to work the best, some are previous learning from what didn’t work before, and some are new tips from Lola’s. You do not want any oil on your eyelid so make sure to prep with something. You can use an eyelid primer, translucent powder, or eyeshadow. Do a quick swipe of mascara on your real lashes in black so the color of your real lashes matches the color of the false eyelashes for easy blending. The purpose of this is not for lengthening or volumizing, it’s only for color matching so a quick swipe to coat is all you’re looking for. If you have straight lashes naturally, do a quick curl to help with blending. Apply the liquid eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible with no skin showing between your natural lash line and the liquid liner. I like pretty subtle eyeliner but need to make it a slightly thicker line than I normally would. Lola’s claims you only need to do one coat of eyeliner and those were my intentions but I noticed when I did one coat and then adhered the magnets, the magnets were thicker than the line of eyeliner. So…I took them off and did a second coat of liquid liner, the same width as the magnets. That worked perfectly. Be careful not to get the liquid eyeliner on your real lashes or you’ll be battling the strip from sticking to your eyelash instead of your lash line. Make sure the eyeliner is completely dry which is different than traditional glue-on lashes where you want the glue to be tacky. The eyeliner you want to make sure is completely dry. Lola’s hot tip is when you think the liner is dry, press your finger on top. If any liner sticks to your finger, it’s not dry. I thought it was dry, did the trick, and discovered it wasn’t. Is it fun waiting for paint to dry? No. But a little bit of patience will be worth ensuring your lashes stay on all day. Once the eyeliner is completely dry remove one strip of eyelashes from the storage case and start from the inner corner of the eye, ensuring the magnet is on the eyeliner. From the inner corner to the outer corner adhere to each of the 5 magnets. If the strip is too long, remove the eyelash and trim the outer side of the strip. Never trim the inner because you can end up with a sharp point and you do not want the potential of that irritating your eye. If you need to trim, trim up to the next magnet. A magnet should always be on each end so that the ends are firmly held down to the eyeliner. How to Remove Magnetic Lashes Take the outer lash and gently pull up and in, around a 45-degree angle, and the lash will come off easily. It’s recommended to take an oil-free makeup remover and swipe the magnets with a soaked cotton pad, let them dry, and then place them back on the magnetic strip in their case for storing. Then you need to remove the liner from your lids. Lola’s includes cleansing grapeseed oil in the kit and they recommend swiping a soaked cotton pad over the liner (these cotton pads really are the best, who knew there was different quality in cotton pads?). This is where it gets a little tricky. The oil included is fine. It works the same way any oil would. But why include a cleanser you can’t use on the actual eyelashes? Which you can’t use oil because it could ruin the magnets (I’m assuming the adhesive from the magnets to the band). I’d rather just use the makeup remover I have and they can keep their cleanser. Tip: it makes a nice size travel oil, so I store it with my travel essentials. Related: Must-Have Beauty Items for Your Next Trip The best part for me was that there was no residue on my eyes (well that, and no irritation). With the traditional glue-on false eyelashes I would undoubtedly have glue residue on my lashes for DAYS. Do Lola’s Lashes Last? I wore the Rose Quartz eyelashes for 10 hours and they were still on by the end of the night. No liner, literally none, had flaked before I took them off. With S’Attraction the eyeliner had worn off on the inner and outer corners so I would have wanted to bring some liner for a touch-up just in case. With Lola’s I don’t think I would need a touchup at all. I would leave the liner at home and not think twice. They are very lightweight and by the end of the night, I forgot I was wearing them. The website says they are reusable up to 30 wears and I can see that, as long as the magnets hold up. When I took them off they looked like they hadn’t even been worn. The Price The Lola’s kit I bought was priced at $50, but I used a 20% off promo code and got it for $40, which also happens to be the free shipping cost. With the S’Attraction lash kit priced at $78, using the 30% off promo code OBSESSED, I got two sets of lashes for $55, or one set for $28 (rounding this whole way). So as you can see Lola’s at $40 is more expensive than S’Attraction at $28. Although…you only have to buy one set vs two. Winner for total cost: Lola’s Winner for cost per lash: S’Attraction Lola’s aren’t the most expensive lashes out there, nor are they the cheapest but I would rather pay the $40 and have the peace of mind that they are going to stay on. Final Thoughts I’m glad I went on a search for better magnetic lashes because I found them in Lola’s. I’m actually going to buy some that are even a little more dramatic because these do look totally natural. I highly recommend giving Lola’s Lashes a try if you are interested in game-changing, commitment-free lashes.
How to Apply Magnetic Eyelashes with Liner

Lola’s comes with pretty comprehensive step-by-step instructions whereas S’Attraction literally came with none.

How to Remove Magnetic Lashes

Take the outer lash and gently pull up and in, around a 45-degree angle, and the lash will come off easily.

The best part for me was that there was no residue on my eyes (well that, and no irritation).

The Price

The Lola’s kit I bought was priced at $50, but I used a 20% off promo code and got it for $40, which also happens to be the free shipping cost.

Winner for total cost: Lola’s

Winner for cost per lash: S’Attraction

Lola’s aren’t the most expensive lashes out there, nor are they the cheapest but I would rather pay the $40 and have the peace of mind that they are going to stay on.

Final Thoughts

I’m glad I went on a search for better magnetic lashes because I found them in Lola’s. I’m actually going to buy some that are even a little more dramatic because these do look totally natural.

I highly recommend giving Lola’s Lashes a try if you are interested in game-changing, commitment-free lashes.

Ah, the never-ending quest of having gorgeous eyelashes. There are natural lashes, mascara, lash growth serum, glue on lashes, magnetic lashes, magnetic eyeliner and lashes, and eyelash extensions. Options are abundant and each has its own pros and cons. Some of the options I’ve tried and some of I’ve passed on (have yet to try extensions because of the upkeep, and I’ve already got hair extensions, so #balance). I saw someone on IG try Scandal Eyes magnetic eyeliner and lashes on their stories they looked so easy. I knew I needed to give them a go myself and see if they were too good to be true. Keep reading to find out my experience and grab my promo code. About S’Attraction makes reusable false eyelashes that have miniature magnets on them, and they adhere to magnetic eyeliner. The eyelashes are vegan and cruelty-free, while the eyeliner is hypoallergenic. Being hypoallergenic is pretty important to me since I have sensitive skin. The company has recently rebranded to S’Attraction from its original name of Scandal’Eyes, so you may see it either way. When I bought the kit it was Scandal’Eyes but on the website now it’s S’Attraction, it’s the same. The Product I bought the Day’N’Night Doe kit which includes two different sets and styles of lashes. The kit also included magnetic eyeliner, a storage case, and an applicator. ‘Secret’ style magnetic eyelashes, medium volume for a subtle difference ‘Dreamy’ style magnetic eyelashes, high volume, and long length for a dramatic look (I believe ‘Dreamy’ is called ‘Classy’ if you buy individually and not in the set) Magnetic liquid eyeliner in black The storage case has two sections and on the top of the compact is a mirror; each section has a ring that set of eyelashes magnetized to Eyelash applicator, like a metal pair of gripping tweezers that I didn’t use at all How to Apply No instructions come with the magnetic eyeliner and lashes and I couldn’t find anything on the website either so I did some experimentation. Here is what I found to work the best for me: Do a quick swipe of mascara on your real lashes in black so the color of your real lashes matches the color of the false eyelashes for easy blending. This is not for lengthening or volumizing, a quick swipe to coat is all you’re looking for. Apply the liquid eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible with no skin showing between your natural lash line and the liquid liner. I typically like pretty subtle eyeliner but needed to make it a slightly thicker line than I normally would. You want to give the magnets a good base to adhere to. Be careful not to get the liquid eyeliner on your real lashes or you’ll be battling the strip from sticking to your eyelash instead of your lash line. UPDATE: For the lashes to really stick, I’ve experimented with letting the eyeliner completely dry (2-ish minutes) and then reapplying a second coat. It seems to really help the eyeliner from flaking. How to Remove Take the outer lash and gently pull up and in, around a 45-degree angle, and they will come off easily. After a quick swipe of the magnets on a makeup remover-soaked cotton pad place them back on the magnetic strip in their case for storing. I used the same makeup remover-soaked cotton pad and proceeded to remove the magnetic eyeliner from my eyes. I just held the pad on the eyeliner for a few seconds and then gently rubbed it, it was just like removing regular liquid eyeliner. The best part for me was that there was no residue on my eyes (well that, and no irritation). With the traditional glue-on false eyelashes I would undoubtedly have glue residue on my lashes for DAYS. Do They Last? I wore the ‘Secret’ eyelashes for seven hours and they were still on by the end of the night. A little eyeliner had worn off on the inner and outer corners so I think it’s a good idea to take the eyeliner bottle with you in case you need a quick touch-up while you’re out and about. They are very lightweight and by the end of the night, I forgot I was wearing them. The website says they are reusable up to 30 wears and I can see that, as long as the magnets hold up. When I took them off they looked like they hadn’t even been worn. The Price The kit I bought, with two sets of lashes, was $77.98, but if you use the promo code Obsessed you’ll get 30% off the entire site. Are there less expensive eyelashes out there? Yes. But as a firm believer in you get what you pay for, I think these are worth the money if you wear them multiple times. Final Thoughts Like Olive & June nail polish, I have found a game-changing product. My regular eyelashes are nice with a good coating of mascara (this tubing brand is the best!) for every day, not justifying the upkeep of eyelash extensions for me. But when I wanted to take it up a notch, I was dealing with the inconvenience and mess of glue. I will not be going back to glue again. S’Attraction magnetic eyelashes and eyeliner are easy to apply, lightweight, reusable, and look good. These are now my go-to. If you buy, don’t forget to use Obsessed to get 30% off your purchase.
