The Father
Amazon Prime Video
Although I wanted Chadwick Boseman to win the Best Lead Oscar for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, when I finished watching The Father, I wrote in my notes, I won’t be surprised if Anthony Hopkins wins. So no, I didn’t think it was the big upset that a lot of people did.
Anthony Hopkins portrayal of a man with struggling with what happens to the mind as it ages is heartbreaking. It’s a unique perspective and it’s told in a fresh way. It’s a movie that you can’t watch in a background, you need to pay attention to all the details, but it’s worth it.
