Ginny & Georgia
Netflix
As a fan of Gilmore Girls, Hart of Dixie, Virgin River, I just didn’t think I could take another ‘girls in small-town show’. And when I learned that Ginny & Georgia was a single mother who had her daughter as a teenager, well basically I thought it was just another Gilmore Girls. All of this is to explain why I waited so long to watch it. But oh, it is not. It is so much more. And I am pleasantly surprised.
What seems like is another story of ‘privileged woman gives birth to a daughter as a teenager, their lives turn our perfect and they are best friends as they ride off into the sunset’ you quickly find out is not the truth.
Sure Ginny & Georgia has the family and small town aspect. But what it also has is mystery and intrigue. And the topics aren’t all sunshine and roses and ‘where will I go to college?’ The series tackles serious topics like racism and sexuality. Although not yet renewed for a second season, there is a ton more to unpack. Fingers cross.
Cool cool cool. Fun fun fun.

Listen | Podcast
Bitch Sesh
Casey Wilson & Danielle Schneider
I realized I’ve never officially reviewed the Bitch Sesh podcast since I’ve been listening to it for years and it’s not as though it is broken into seasons.
As an avid housewives fan, I was stoked to find a podcast that loves Bravo as much as I do. As soon as a new episode comes out every week I listen to it. It’s become a sort of a Friday treat.
Casey and Danielle co-host this show and they play perfectly off of each other. As professional comedienne’s, they aren’t just fans dissecting the shows, their commentary literally makes me lol. You may know Casey from her stint on SNL or current roles on shows like Atypical. And Danielle is a hysterical writer, most recently I’ve seen her work on Kenan.
Together they are magic, but they have a slew of celebrity guests who also are fans and change up each weeks dynamic. A couple of weeks ago Andy Cohen himself was the guest, they are the real (and really funny) deal.
