This Week’s Binge 7.31.20
So weekly TV has come back and there have been some good things to watch. I may not have binged much, but I am up to date on all my weekly shows.
- Real Housewives of Beverly Hills | What was teased for a long time is finally playing out on screen. It’s so surprising to me that people think they can come on reality TV and keep parts of their lives a secret. I’m not going to say who I think is telling the truth, but whomever it is, the truth will come out.
- Real Housewives of New York City | All I have to say is that I think Leah is having the best first season that I’ve ever seen. So good.
- Perry Mason | Brand new series and I’m up to speed…I’m not going to review until I’m finished but it is one I’ve been watching every week.
Watch
I May Destroy You
HBO
I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t this. #1 – didn’t realize this takes place in England; for some reason thought it was U.S.-based. #2 – thought it was a mystery trying to find the person who committed sexual assault; it’s so much more than that.
Michaela Coel, the creator and lead actress, humanizes sexual assault in a way I don’t think we’ve seen before. She gives an inside look at what a survivor goes through, and also questions what defines assault. Spoiler…assault can take shape in many forms.
I May Destroy You brings to light a really important conversation to be had, and it’s one we all should be having.

At the Bar Podcast
Lindsay Silberman & Kristin Smith
Co-hosted by one of my favorite bloggers, this is a new podcast by two best friends that manage to tackle serious topics in not a serious way. Each episode is super digestible at around 30 minutes and in typical Lindsay Silberman style is no-BS.
Lindsay and her BFF Kristin created this podcast to highlight current issues and give tangible advice on how we can make a change. And since they are real-life BFF’s the conversation is so natural and easy to listen to.
