This Week’s Binge 9.18.20

One last push before the Emmy’s and I tried The Kominsky Method as I committed to myself that I would do.  I don’t know what took me so long!

The Kominsky Method

Netflix

Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin lead this dramady so you know it’s a great cast, and with Chuck Lorre producing the writing is on point too.  The humor is smart, like an older version of Gilmore Girls, if you get the humor you feel like you are in on the joke.

The ultimate premise is the antics of an unlikely friendship, like Grace and Frankie or 2 Broke Girls.  Yes, it’s centered around the elderly but the topics are relevant.  Most of us have parents or grandparents that are there, and hopefully, we’ll get there some time too.

Get Organized with The Home Edit

Netflix

Binged this entire series in a day.

The Home Edit is a professional organization company I had heard about through social media because they organize a lot of celebrities homes.  What I didn’t realize is that the company was founded by two women charismatic women, but I enjoyed being introduced to them on Get Organized.

My nature is to be organized, and I do not like clutter.  I never watched Marie Kondo because the whole spark joy seemed like a gimmick, but just solid organizational hacks is something I can get behind.  I literally started organizing the day I binged, it’s inspiring and motivational.

Big fan.

Taste the Nation

Hulu

I thought this food-based show with Padma Lakshmi hosting was just another food show, but I was wrong.  It’s so much more.

Taste the Nation is really about immigration in the U.S and how certain cultures have assimilated and how some still have a long way to go.  Food is the common thread.

This is such an important and relevant topic, I’m happy it got renewed for a second season.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things

Netflix

To say that this movie is not what I expected is an understatement.  When I watched the trailer for I’m Thinking of Ending Things I thought it was interesting, looked like a typical indie film although I wasn’t really sure what it was about.

Well…it’s a psychological thriller, which I’m not mad about.  Since I firmly believe in no spoilers that’s about all i’ll say except for two words.  Pay.  Attention.
